Norsemont Mining Completes 16 Drill Holes at Choquelimpie Project
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, September 1, 2026 – Norsemont Mining Inc. has provided an update on its 2026 Phase 3 drill program at the Choquelimpie project in Chile. The company has completed 16 drill holes, totaling 4,100 meters, as of the end of August, expanding the work across five key zones.
According to Norsemont CEO Marc Levy, "Our drilling is progressing well, and we are confident that the results will provide valuable insights into the mineralization. We expect to release the assay results shortly, which will be a significant milestone for our exploration efforts."
The drilling has helped outline the boundaries of several hydrothermal breccia bodies and mineral zones, offering the team a clearer understanding of the potential for future resource expansion. Multiple gold-bearing styles have been confirmed, including hydrothermal breccias, porphyry-related quartz ± magnetite veinlets, and quartz-mica-sulfide alteration zones. Base-metal mineralization, particularly in the quartz-mica-sulfide zones, adds another potential value component to the project.
The ongoing drilling program, specifically hole MV26-DD24, is offset from known mineralization, targeting an extension between the Choque and Vizcacha Zones. This step-out drilling is part of Norsemont's broader strategy to explore beyond the limits of known mineralization.
Roman Flores, a qualified person managing the 2026 drill program, noted, "The early results are promising, and we are excited about the potential to uncover new mineralization in the Choquelimpie project area."
Assays from the 16 holes are pending and are expected to provide meaningful catalysts for the company's exploration plans. Norsemont also plans to conduct metallurgical and 3D geological studies later in the year to refine the understanding of precious- and base-metal relationships across the system.
"Once the assays are available, we will be able to provide more detailed information on the mineralization and its potential for development," said Levy.
The Choquelimpie project, a past-producing mine, has a rich history with over 1,720 drill holes and existing infrastructure, including roads, power, water, camp facilities, and a 3,000-tpd mill. Norsemont is committed to responsible, sustainable development and modern exploration practices to unlock further value for shareholders and stakeholders.
"We are confident in our ability to advance the project and look forward to sharing more details with our investors and stakeholders," concluded Levy.
