VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Newcore Gold Ltd., a company advancing its Enchi Gold Project in Ghana, has appointed Mr. Sulemanu Koney to its Board of Directors. Effective immediately, Mr. Koney, a 35-year veteran of the Ghanaian mining industry, brings extensive leadership experience and a track record of fostering socio-economic development through mining.
Mr. Koney’s career highlights include his 25-year tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines (GCM), where he led transformative initiatives that enhanced the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector. His decade-long role as the Chair of the UN Global Compact Network Ghana further solidifies his commitment to corporate governance and business ethics. Additionally, Mr. Koney’s leadership in establishing the ECOWAS Federation of Chambers of Mines (EFEDCOM) underscores his dedication to regional collaboration and the broader mining community.

Mr. Koney’s appointment comes with a set of incentives. Newcore has granted him 225,000 stock options at a price of $0.305 per share, which vest over a three-year period with one-third vesting after each 12-month period. Additionally, 150,000 performance share units will vest after a one-year period based on attendance at quarterly Board of Director meetings, under the Company’s long-term incentive plan. These grants are subject to approval by the TSX Venture Exchange.
