New Director’s Cut of "Sign Your Name" Released on YouTube

The Performance Lab No. 33, known for its award-winning film "The Kingfish," has released a new director’s cut of its latest short film, "Sign Your Name," on YouTube. This new version, which more closely aligns with the vision of producer and director Tab Edwards, includes additional live performance clips from Artist X’s concerts in Wilmington, Delaware, and The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

The film centers on multi-platinum recording artist Artist X, who is facing pressure from his record label chief, Omar, to create a sound-alike follow-up album. Instead, Artist X wants to explore new creative territory, which sparks a conflict with Omar. Additionally, Omar insists on an end to the budding relationship between Artist X and fellow singer and labelmate Cupcake, adding another layer of tension to the narrative.

"Sign Your Name" was previously recognized with the Best Feature/Short Film award at the New York Monthly Film Festival. The director’s cut, now available on YouTube, showcases the producer’s and director’s artistic vision more fully.
