HERNDON, Va., Sept. 18, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Navient, a leading provider of student loan services, has successfully closed a $612.5 million securitization backed by private education loans. This transaction, known as the Navient Private Education Loan Trust (NAVSL) 2026-A, marks the company’s fourth such deal of the year.

According to Steve Hauber, Navient’s chief financial officer, the securitization is significant as it expands the company’s access to investors operating under the European Union’s and the United Kingdom’s securitization regulatory frameworks.

The transaction, structured with risk retention features, is designed to support these investors' compliance needs while demonstrating Navient's confidence in the quality of the underlying assets. Navient has agreed to retain a portion of the notes and certificates, aligning with the risk retention requirements of the EU securitization regulation and the UK securitization regulatory framework.

The sole book runner for the transaction is J.P. Morgan. Navient’s commitment to responsible lending, flexible refinancing, and trusted servicing oversight remains a cornerstone of its operations. Through its Earnest business, the company continues to help customers achieve financial success through digital financial services.

This securitization is the fourth of its kind for Navient in 2023, underscoring the company’s active engagement in the capital markets and its focus on providing robust financial solutions for education loans.
