Per Inc., a Nagoya-based company, has launched NAGOYA BUZZ MAP, a free digital map that highlights places in Nagoya and Aichi Prefecture that are currently trending on social media, television, and online media. Available in 10 languages, including English, the service aims to provide travelers and locals with a comprehensive guide to the city's most talked-about spots.
NAGOYA BUZZ MAP features more than 300 listings, which are selected based on recent media coverage and social media mentions. The map uses artificial intelligence to identify potential listings and reviews them daily to ensure accuracy and relevance. Local staff also check new listings to ensure they meet the criteria before publication. Places are removed from the map as media attention fades, and events are taken down after they conclude.
The launch of NAGOYA BUZZ MAP comes at a time when Nagoya is increasingly becoming a popular destination for international visitors. According to the City of Nagoya, about 134,000 guests from the United States stayed in Nagoya in 2025, marking a 43.2% increase from the previous year. Australia, Singapore, and the United Kingdom also saw significant growth, with 77,000, 88,000, and 32,000 guests, respectively. The ties between Nagoya and sister cities such as Los Angeles and Sydney have contributed to this growth, with the city hosting the Asian Games and Asian Para Games in autumn 2026, attracting 45 countries and regions.
NAGOYA BUZZ MAP is designed to cater to both travelers using Nagoya as a base for exploring Japan and those who wish to delve into the city's vibrant culture and attractions. The map is accessible via a web browser and does not require any app downloads. It offers detailed information on each place, including the source of the media coverage and links to official social media accounts where available. The map is color-coded to identify different categories of places, and a scrolling greeting in the local Nagoya dialect adds a playful touch.
Three examples of places featured on the map include: - Taiwan Ramen Eraku, Meieki branch (Nishi Ward, Nagoya): An Instagram reel showing a large batch of beaten eggs being poured into a wok attracted approximately 29 million views as of October 30, 2026. The video was posted by an account introducing Japanese food to international audiences and drew comments in English and Portuguese. - Nagoya Kanko Hotel (Naka Ward, Nagoya): Maruhachi Fushimi Bettei, a restaurant serving Nagoya specialties, opened on the hotel's first floor on September 17, 2026, attracting coverage from Tokai TV and several online media outlets. The hotel was also a filming location for the Netflix film 10DANCE, starring Ryoma Takeuchi and Keita Machida. - Coffee Karasu (Naka Ward, Nagoya): A kissaten in Fushimi founded in the 1970s. A post on X about its coffee float topped with a crow-shaped cookie attracted approximately 70,000 views as of October 30, 2026. The shop also appeared in the 2018 New Year's Eve special of the TV series Solitary Gourmet (Kodoku no Gourmet), where its red bean toast was featured.
NAGOYA BUZZ MAP is free to use and does not charge businesses a listing fee. The service is available in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, German, and Finnish. The map helps users find places to visit based on media coverage and social media mentions, providing a unique and engaging way to explore the city.
