CHANDLER, Ariz., Sept. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Microchip Technology, a leader in semiconductor solutions, has introduced a new family of 1.2V-output low-voltage clock buffers designed to address the growing demand for advanced clock distribution in high-performance devices. The SY757xx family, which includes three production-ready devices and eight sampling versions, aims to simplify system design and enhance signal integrity for a wide range of applications.
The SY757xx family is crucial for designers working with advanced FinFET process nodes used in high-performance Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), System-on-Chips (SoCs), artificial intelligence accelerators, and next-generation central processing units (CPUs). The devices are designed to convert higher-voltage clock signals to the lower 1.2V levels required by these advanced components, making them an essential tool for printed circuit board (PCB) designers.
According to Maamoun Abou Seido, appointed vice president of Microchip’s timing and communications business unit, the SY757xx family helps customers overcome the challenges associated with next-generation high-performance FPGAs, SoCs, and CPUs. "Our SY757xx family of clock buffers simplifies board design, reduces component count, and maintains the signal integrity and timing accuracy required in today’s high-performance computing applications," said Abou Seido.
The SY757xx family offers ultra-low additive jitter performance, making it ideal for applications requiring high-speed parallel processing, hardware reconfigurability, low latency, and efficient real-time computing. These capabilities are essential for a wide range of applications, including embedded vision and video processing, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) acceleration, industrial control, the Internet of Things (IoT), networking and communications, and signal processing and embedded systems.
The family spans a broad array of configurations in three space-saving packaging options: an 8-pin Very-thin Dual Flat No-lead (VDFN) package, and 8-pin Thin Dual Flat No-lead (TDFN) packages for the SY75712TWL-TR and SY75714TWL-TR devices. The SY75707TWL-TR supports differential input to two LVCMOS output and is priced from $0.50 to $0.83 per unit in volumes of 10,000. The SY75712TWL-TR and SY75714TWL-TR devices, which enable either 2 or 4 LVCMOS outputs operating at 1.2V to 1.8V rail, are priced similarly.
The SY757xx family devices are designed to protect against clock distortion across a 0 Hz to 250 MHz frequency spectrum while also offering a broad range of power supply input and output options across the 1.2V to 3.3V voltage-translation input range. This includes a single-chip option that reliably interconnects 3.3V components to FPGAs and SoCs with a 1.2V clock signal requirement. The devices are available in production and sampling in limited volumes.
Microchip’s new clock buffer family is part of the company’s comprehensive range of flash-based FPGAs and SoC FPGAs, which span ultra-low density to mid-range density devices. The new SY757xx family strengthens the clock buffer’s role as a critically important interface for clock distribution and fanout functionality in application platforms where signal integrity is paramount.
In conclusion, the SY757xx family of clock buffers from Microchip Technology addresses the pressing needs of designers in the high-performance computing market, offering a comprehensive solution that simplifies board design and enhances signal integrity. With its ultra-low additive jitter performance and broad range of power supply and frequency support, the SY757xx family is poised to play a significant role in the development of next-generation high-performance devices.
