Masterchannel Introduces Free Artist Mastering Into InterSpace Dashboard

The InterSpace Group today announced a partnership with Masterchannel, the Oslo-based music mastering company, that brings professional mastering directly into the dashboard artists already use to release their music. The integration is live on InterSpace Distribution, the Group's direct-to-artist distribution service, and on ToneGrid, its white-label distribution platform for labels, distributors, and music companies.

Mastering is the final step between a finished mix and a release. It balances a track's tonality, dynamics, and loudness so the music sounds right on every streaming service and every speaker, from headphones and car stereos to radio and club systems. For many independent artists, that step has meant paying for studio time or releasing without it. With the new integration, artists open Mastering from their dashboard menu, upload a mix, and get a mastered version back within minutes. Every master comes with a free full-length preview that can be compared against the original mix, with loudness-matched playback so the difference is easy to hear. Artists pay only if they choose to download the final master. There is no subscription, and nothing is ever charged automatically.

Masterchannel was founded by a mastering engineer, an independent artist, and a producer. Its technology combines human engineering expertise with modern audio technology: it analyzes the sonic characteristics of an uploaded mix and calculates precise adjustments to tonality, dynamics, and loudness. It does not generate or alter musical content, it was not trained on copyrighted recordings, and every master remains entirely the artist's own.

The partnership with InterSpace stems from a shared commitment to empowering independent artists. As musicians themselves, the founders at Masterchannel understand the dedication required to produce great work, and they are proud to make high-quality sound accessible and affordable for all InterSpace's artists.

Mastering is available now to InterSpace Distribution artists from the Mastering page of their dashboard, and to the artists of every label and distributor on ToneGrid. Artists can start distributing with InterSpace at interspacemusic.com. Labels and distributors that want to run their own branded distribution business can learn more at tonegrid.pro.
