Kelowna, British Columbia, September 1, 2026, Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX), a global innovator in oral drug delivery platforms, has announced the receipt of a significant AUD$3,666,611.98 tax rebate from the Australian Tax Office. The funds have been deposited into the bank account of the company’s wholly-owned Australian subsidiary, Lexaria (AU) Pty Ltd.

The rebate, equivalent to USD$2.6 million, stems from Lexaria’s 2025 12-week chronic GLP-1-H24-4 Study, which was conducted in Australia. The company strategically chose this location, recognizing potential tax benefits. After a review, the application for the rebate was accepted, confirming compliance with the Australian Research & Development (R&D) Tax Incentive Program.

Richard Christopher, CEO of Lexaria Bioscience Corp., expressed satisfaction with the outcome. “This cash rebate of USD$2.6 million underscores our commitment to R&D and further validates our technology. The funds will be used to support future R&D plans in Australia,” he said.

The received rebate is not included in the company’s previously filed financial statements or cash runway projections. However, it will now be accounted for in the upcoming annual 10-K filing. Lexaria plans to utilize these funds in its 2027 R&D initiatives, which will include various projects aimed at advancing its DehydraTECH technology.

DehydraTECH™ is Lexaria’s patented drug delivery formulation and processing platform, designed to enhance the bio-absorption of a wide range of drugs. The technology has demonstrated the ability to increase bio-absorption, reduce side-effects, and deliver some drugs more effectively across the blood-brain barrier. Lexaria operates a licensed in-house research laboratory and holds a robust intellectual property portfolio, with 66 patents granted and additional patents pending worldwide.

The company remains debt-free as it continues to pursue business development opportunities through applied R&D. “We are leveraging our R&D capabilities to support our DehydraTECH technology and maintain our position as a global leader in oral drug delivery,” Christopher added.

Forward-looking statements in the press release include the intended use of these funds for future R&D, as well as the potential benefits of the company’s ongoing research and development initiatives. Lexaria Bioscience Corp. advises investors and readers to be aware of the inherent risks and uncertainties associated with such forward-looking statements.
