CALGARY, Alberta, Sept. 18, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Jura Energy Corporation, an international energy company operating in Pakistan, has issued a clarification regarding media reports concerning the possible revocation of its petroleum rights. The reports, published by the Pakistani newspaper Dawn on September 13, 2026, stemmed from a March 2025 share transfer of a 73% stake in the company from Phoenix Exploration to IDL Investments Limited.
According to the media report, the Petroleum Division of the Government of Pakistan had sought advice from the Pakistan Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) regarding potential actions related to the share transfer. Two options were reportedly under consideration: the revocation of petroleum rights held by Jura’s subsidiaries, Frontier Holdings Limited (FHL) and Spud Energy Pty Limited (SEPL), or the issuance of a warning followed by the retrospective regularisation of the share transfer.
In July 2025, Jura received a Show Cause Notice from the Petroleum Division in relation to the share transfer. The company responded, explaining that the transfer did not require prior consent under the applicable Pakistan Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Rules, 1986 and 2001 (the “Rules”). Jura’s position was supported by an independent legal opinion from a renowned Pakistani lawyer.
The company has written to the regulatory authorities to seek clarification on the matters reported in the article. Jura stated that no revocation of petroleum rights has been notified, and it has had no communication from the regulatory authorities since June 2026. The company believes it has been in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations and is committed to remaining so.
Jura Energy Corporation will continue to engage constructively with the relevant authorities and will assess any response or further information received in relation to the matter. The company emphasized that the media report describes possible courses of action reportedly under consideration by the relevant authorities and does not, in itself, constitute a confirmed decision to revoke the Company’s petroleum rights.
