CHICAGO, Sept. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) is set to host its 34th World Congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from October 15 to 17, 2026. The event, which is expected to draw nearly 800 physicians and their surgical assistants from around the globe, aims to provide a platform for the latest advancements in hair restoration techniques and therapies.
The congress will feature a full-day Live Surgery Workshop on October 13, sponsored by the Brazilian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABCRC). This workshop will offer attendees the opportunity to observe and participate in live surgical procedures, providing hands-on learning experiences.
Dr. Maxim Chumak, the Program Chair, emphasized the importance of integrity and excellence in the field of hair restoration.
Keynote speakers from around the world will present on a variety of topics, including the latest research and clinical applications. Dr. Maria Hordinsky from the USA will discuss the Phase 3 SCALP clinical trial program evaluating the topical clascoterone 5% solution (Breezula) for androgenetic alopecia. Dr. Carolina Motter Catarino from Brazil will explore the use of bioinformatics and 3D bioengineering in next-generation hair follicle research. Dr. Dirlene Roth from Brazil will present on regenerative hair microinfusion as a strategy to maximize hair transplant results. Dr. Jason Sonners from the USA will address emerging hyperbaric research and its implications for clinical practice.
The main program will cover a wide range of topics, including medical therapies, artificial intelligence and robotics, donor harvesting, hairline design, graft survival, complications, regenerative therapies, ethics and safety, digital planning, and other emerging areas. Eight focused sessions will provide in-depth discussions on important topics, with ample time set aside for questions and discussion.
A special patient testimonial is planned for the General Session, featuring a patient who experienced serious complications at a black-market clinic. This presentation is intended to bring an important perspective to the discussions about physician responsibility and patient safety.
