HOUSTON, Oct. 13, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Innovapptive, a leading provider of AI-powered industrial execution platforms, has launched a new metric called Frontline Execution Effectiveness (FEE) to measure how quickly and effectively plants respond to problems. This new score, ranging from 0 to 100%, was introduced at the 5th Annual Connected Worker Manufacturing Summit 2026, held at the Westin Chicago North Shore from October 13 to 15.
The FEE metric complements the existing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) score, which measures how a machine performed. FEE, however, focuses on the response time and the durability of the fix. It is calculated based on two key measures: latency, which is the share of a problem's closure window the plant kept from detection to verified closure, and resolution, which assesses whether the fix held, with no repeat failure on the same asset within 90 days.
According to Innovapptive, the FEE score can help plant leaders understand the response time and effectiveness of their operations.
The company conducted a benchmark study involving approximately 120 plants and sites across 22 organizations and seven industries. The findings revealed that among plants that reported the measure, the median maintenance backlog was 12.1 weeks against a 2-4 week norm. Additionally, the median OEE was 62.7% against an 85% reference, and the median reactive share of work was 52% against a reference below 20%.
One example of the impact of FEE was demonstrated at Indorama Ventures' Port Neches, Texas site. A single execution layer from Innovapptive delivered $19 million in savings, representing about a 17% cost take-out on the site's $112 million budget. The site saw a reduction in contractors from 140 to 83, a decrease in average overtime from 24% to 10%, and inventory accuracy at 99.5%.
The benchmark also highlighted the significant gaps in plant response times. For instance, notifications at one polymer plant waited a median of 21 days, and corrective work took about 100 days from creation to completion at two chemicals plants. At one polymer plant, availability fell from 99.6% to 82.7% over four months while maintenance cost per ton rose 2.6 times, illustrating the spread of fixed costs over fewer tons.
Innovapptive's FEE metric is designed to fill the gap in plant performance by providing a clear, actionable measure of execution effectiveness.
Attendees of the Connected Worker Manufacturing Summit can get the benchmark and estimate their own FEE at Booth 30. Innovapptive's platform brings operators, planners, schedulers, technicians, and supervisors into a unified workflow on top of existing systems of record, serving 50+ customers, including Shell, Indorama, Goodyear, and Kimberly-Clark.
