InCoax Networks Activates Multi-Gigabit Broadband in Sjoberg's Buildings

LUND, Sweden, Sept. 3, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- InCoax Networks has announced the initial activation of a multi-building deployment for Sjoberg's Inc., a family-owned cable operator founded in 1962 and headquartered in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The rollout, which is set to cover approximately 30 to 40 buildings, utilizes InCoax technology in conjunction with Nokia Gigabit Connect with MoCA Access to deliver fiber-based multi-gigabit broadband over existing coaxial infrastructure in apartment buildings.

The technology leverages existing in-building coaxial infrastructure to extend fiber-based broadband services, making it a cost-effective solution for operators facing the challenges of installing fiber throughout buildings. This deployment is part of Nokia's broader broadband access portfolio, which supports integrated provisioning and lifecycle management through Nokia Altiplano Access Controller.

Sjoberg's has integrated Nokia DPU and InCoax MoCA technology into its TruVizion broadband diagnostics platform, enabling operators to monitor MoCA status and performance alongside other network diagnostics. This integration enhances the management of the MoCA Access portion of the network alongside the fiber access network.

"The Sjoberg's deployment serves as a Fiber Access Extension use case, extending fiber-based broadband services from the building access point to individual subscribers," explained Tobieson. "InCoax's MoCA Access platform also supports FWA Extension deployments, allowing operators to reuse existing coaxial infrastructure to distribute broadband connectivity inside multi-dwelling units."

From a sustainability perspective, reusing existing in-building coax can support environmental objectives by reducing the need for additional cabling, construction work, and new materials. InCoax has published a whitepaper examining the sustainability and cost benefits of repurposing coaxial infrastructure for multi-gigabit broadband in apartment building environments.
