Gourley Appointed as New President of National Diabetes Trust

Toronto, Sept. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- National Diabetes Trust has appointed Nicole Gourley as its new president and CEO, effective September 28, 2026. The appointment comes after a rigorous search process that identified Gourley as the ideal candidate to lead the organization through its next phase of growth and impact.
Gourley brings more than 18 years of experience to her new role, having served as the executive officer for Circular Materials, where she helped build and grow a national not-for-profit operating model across Canada. Before that, she held senior roles at Foresters Financial and GS1 Canada, leading teams, improving operations, and developing new services and partnerships.
In her new position, Gourley will be responsible for guiding the organization through its next chapter, a period of significant growth and evolution. She will be tasked with strengthening partnerships, building strong teams, and turning strategy into results to increase the organization's impact in support of Diabetes Canada's mission.
Gourley's appointment follows the transition of Tim D’Souza, who served as the interim CEO. D’Souza will return full-time to his role as senior vice-president, Finance and Business Operations at Diabetes Canada, following the transition.
National Diabetes Trust is Canada's largest charitable clothing and small household goods collection service and the social enterprise of Diabetes Canada. With more than 3,000 donation bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), NDT collects unwanted gently used clothing and household items, using them to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada.
Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada. This translates into savings of 1 billion kilowatt-hours of energy - equivalent to removing 212,087 cars from roads - saves 7,257.44 mature trees, conserves 167,828.30 liters of water, and reduces our carbon footprint by 280 million pounds of CO2.
Gourley's appointment underscores National Diabetes Trust's commitment to leveraging its resources for the greater good. Under her leadership, the organization will continue to make a significant impact in support of Diabetes Canada's mission, ensuring that its resources are used effectively to help those in need.
