Gatekeeper Systems Inc. sees 93% growth in MDC subscriptions

Gatekeeper Systems Inc. reported a significant increase in Mobile Data Collector (MDC) subscriptions and installations during its fiscal year 2026, highlighting strong growth in its data center offerings and expanding its installed base.

The company's data center now services 7,700 MDC subscriptions, marking a 93% growth from the 4,000 subscribers it had at the start of the fiscal year. This growth is part of a broader expansion in the number of MDCs installed on vehicles, with the company reporting over 7,000 installations during the fiscal year, most of which were on school buses.

According to Gatekeeper, the majority of the 72,000 customer-owned MDCs in its installed base are now operational, reflecting a substantial market penetration. Doug Dyment, President and CEO of Gatekeeper, stated, "Since launching our data center in February 2024, we've seen steady adoption of our recurring revenue offerings, which we continue to enhance to meet our customers' needs. The simplicity of choosing Gatekeeper for video analysis and storage is driven by the increasing use of video, rising storage costs, and the complexity of manual video reviews."

Dyment further explained, "Our centralized data center approach simplifies the capital infrastructure cost burden for customers into a straightforward operating budget recurring revenue model. This not only reduces the time required to get a customer's video system fully operational but also integrates with our AI-assisted video analytics software for incident flagging and compliance with privacy laws."

The company's MDCs provide video and data solutions for school buses, public transit, and smart cities. Its data center offerings include a suite of video analytics and storage solutions such as Live View Wireless, Student Protector, Passenger Protector, remote monitoring, and video storage. These tools are designed to help manage and analyze video footage in a more efficient and cost-effective manner.
