The INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund, a leading private equity firm in the Baltics, has announced that its portfolio company, Galinta, will acquire 100% of the shares in the Estonian cereal producer Worldline. This acquisition will strengthen Galinta’s position in the Estonian market and expand its product range, adding approximately EUR 2.1 million in annual revenue.
Galinta, one of the largest buckwheat producers in Europe and a major producer of cereal flakes in the Baltics, has been actively expanding its operations. In February 2024, the company acquired the Lithuanian buckwheat groats producer Ekofrisa, further solidifying its market presence. The acquisition of Worldline, which produces packaged rice, groats, and other cereal products under the ‘Baltix’ brand, is expected to be completed by the end of the year, subject to approval from the Estonian Competition Authority and the fulfillment of other customary closing conditions.
Worldline, a company that began operations in 1997, has established itself as a well-known brand in Estonia. Its products are sold in all major Estonian retail chains, making it one of the top three brands in its category. In 2025, the Galinta Group’s revenue amounted to EUR 37.9 million. With the addition of Worldline, the company aims to further enhance its market share and operational efficiency.
The INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund, with a fund size of EUR 165 million, is one of the leading private equity funds in the region. Its anchor investor, the European Investment Fund (EIF), which is part of the European Investment Bank, committed EUR 30 million with the support of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (Junker Plan). The fund is managed by INVL Asset Management, the leading Baltic alternative asset manager, which oversees EUR 2.3 billion in assets across various investment strategies.
In 1997, Galinta started as a trader of grain grown by Lithuanian farmers. Today, the company supplies its products not only to Baltic consumers but also to customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Scandinavia. The acquisition of Worldline is part of Galinta’s ongoing strategy to expand its product range and market presence in the region.
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the year, marking a significant step in Galinta’s growth strategy and further solidifying its position as a major player in the Baltic cereal market.
