Fresno Unified School District has significantly enhanced its tracking and management of work-based learning experiences for students through the implementation of TitanWBL, a work-based learning management system. Since its deployment in 2022, the district has logged over one million work-based learning experiences across 80+ career and technical education (CTE) programs. Prior to adopting TitanWBL, the district relied on Microsoft Forms to collect data on work-based learning experiences, which were limited to 70+ programs in the 2021-2022 academic year. The platform enabled the district to more than double the number of experiences to 200,658 in its first year. By the 2025-2026 school year, the number of experiences had grown to over 300,000, with 80+ CTE programs now using the system. The district reports that it manages relationships with over 3,000 industry partners through TitanWBL.
The implementation of TitanWBL has not only increased the volume of tracked experiences but has also expanded the scope to include younger students. Every elementary and middle school in the district now reports work-based learning activity, with one middle school alone recording over 7,000 student experiences in a single year. This growth has been facilitated by the platform's ease of use and integration, which allowed the district to deploy TitanWBL across 70+ programs in under two weeks in 2022.
Amber Neulinger, the district’s Data Specialist, highlighted the benefits of using TitanWBL for compliance and reporting.
Kristen Boroski, the district’s Career Readiness Director, emphasized the personalized benefits of the system.
Alejandro Arcos, Co-Founder of TitanWBL, underscored the transformative impact of the system on the district.
The system's success has not only benefited the district but has also set a new standard for tracking and managing work-based learning experiences. As the district continues to integrate TitanWBL into its educational framework, it aims to further enhance the career readiness of its students and strengthen its partnerships with industry leaders. The district's commitment to providing students with meaningful, real-world experiences is evident in the significant increase in the number of work-based learning experiences logged each year. This growth reflects the district's dedication to preparing students for the workforce and ensuring they are equipped with the skills necessary for success in their chosen careers.
