BAD HOMBURG, Germany, Oct. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Fresenius Medical Care, the world's leading provider of products and services for people with kidney disease, has expanded its portfolio with the U.S. launch of the multiFiltratePRO System, designed to support critically ill patients with acute kidney injury (AKI). The system, which received FDA clearance on October 19, 2026, integrates advanced technology to simplify the delivery of continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT) for U.S. hospitals.

The multiFiltratePRO System, along with the Cienby™ (sodium citrate solution) and Calrezdy™ (calcium chloride solution), offers a comprehensive solution for managing AKI. Cienby, an anticoagulant indicated for regional citrate anticoagulation (RCA) during continuous venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD) or continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF) in adults and pediatric patients weighing at least 40 kg, and Calrezdy, a source of calcium for calcium substitution during the same procedures, are now available in the United States.

The multiFiltratePRO System features integrated citrate and calcium pumps that work in harmony with the Ci-Ca protocol to deliver RCA without the need for separate external infusion pumps. This innovative approach ensures that citrate and calcium infusion rates automatically adjust to changes in blood and effluent flow, making complex treatments easier for hospital intensive care teams to manage.

The system is part of Fresenius Medical Care's ongoing efforts to advance kidney care innovation. The company recently introduced the 5008X™ CAREsystem in the United States, which has helped bring hemodiafiltration (HDF) to American patients, a standard of care in many parts of Europe and Asia-Pacific.

At the upcoming ASN Kidney Week 2026 in Denver, attendees can visit Booth 571 to view the multiFiltratePRO System firsthand, engage with product experts, and learn more about its role in supporting critically ill patients with AKI.

Fresenius Medical Care operates through its network of 3,513 dialysis clinics, providing dialysis treatments for approximately 290,000 patients around the globe. The company's commitment to innovation and patient care is reflected in its diverse portfolio of advanced therapies and solutions.

The multiFiltratePRO System, with its integrated technology, is designed to support intensive care teams treating critically ill patients with AKI, a serious condition in which the kidneys lose their ability to filter waste from the blood. Through the Ci-Ca protocol, the system aims to minimize clotting during CKRT, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of treatment.
