FreightPOP Launches MCP Server Integrating AI Assistants into Supply Chain Operations
News related to:FreightPOP · 1 min read
FreightPOP, a leading AI supply chain software platform, has introduced a new MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that integrates AI assistants directly into its platform. This innovation allows customers to interact with AI assistants, such as Anthropic's Claude, for quoting, booking, tracking, and inventory checking within their FreightPOP accounts.
The MCP server supports 11 platform tools, with every call authenticated to an individual FreightPOP user. Administrators can control access at both the company and user levels, ensuring secure and controlled interactions. Eight of the tools are read-only, covering functions like rate quoting across connected carriers, carrier and service lookup, shipment tracking, full shipment detail retrieval, address validation, warehouse inventory by item number, picking status, and inbound receipt search. Three tools enable actions: creating shipments, importing orders in bulk, and canceling shipments where the carrier still allows it.
Logistics managers can now use their AI assistants to perform tasks like rate shopping, booking carriers, and confirming pick statuses without switching between systems. The MCP server is available now and can be enabled per account through a FreightPOP account manager. Administrators then turn it on for individual users in the user manager and connect their preferred AI client.
FreightPOP, known for its comprehensive supply chain software, supports various modes of transportation, including parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean, rail, and international air. The platform integrates seamlessly with existing systems, such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and Acumatica. Its AI layer continuously learns from shipment data and operational behavior to guide decisions and automate execution.
The company claims that FreightPOP customers can achieve up to 30% savings on freight spend, 8-15% savings through invoice auditing, and a 95% reduction in shipment processing time through auto-dispatch. Additionally, customers experience a 40% average increase in on-time deliveries, and the platform operates at 99.99% uptime.
FreightPOP was named to the Inc. 5000 as the fastest-growing logistics tech company in 2024 and 2025, highlighting its rapid growth and innovation in the industry.
