WASHINGTON, Oct. 26, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- On November 3, 2026, a significant milestone in American electoral history will be achieved as the first nationally televised Election Night dedicated to independent voters will air. United Independents, the organization behind the Independent National Convention, is partnering with DeFiance Media to present this groundbreaking event. The broadcast will air live from the National Press Club's television studio in Washington, D.C., and will run for eight hours, starting at 6 PM Eastern Time.
A record 45% of Americans now identify as independent voters, a figure that has reached a record high in Gallup's 2025 data. Despite this, partisan coverage continues to dominate mainstream media. This Election Night aims to give independent voters a voice and representation in the electoral process. The program will be hosted by Christopher Life, founder and CEO of United Independents, and Macy Gunnell, NewsForce's White House correspondent.
The broadcast will be built on live election data from The Associated Press and will call national races as the returns come in. However, the program will go beyond typical coverage by providing race-by-race coverage of independent candidates in key congressional contests. This unique feature will allow viewers to see how independent candidates are performing in races that could tip the balance of power in Congress. Additionally, the broadcast will feature guest conversations with strategists and organizers behind the independent candidates.
United Independents is making this broadcast open to every newsroom. U.S. television outlets, including local stations, can carry the program live, in full or in part, separate from DeFiance Media's full-program streaming. The broadcast will also be available through participating social media partners, and channels can sign up at Election2026.live. Newsrooms, commentators, and creators can pull portions of the program for reporting and social distribution while the broadcast is underway.
The event is designed to cater to the two generations of Americans who have come of age as independent voters. For 74 years, no nationally televised Election Night has been built around them. This year, United Independents is changing that by providing national results, dedicated coverage of independent candidates, and a live chat with selected viewer questions put to the hosts and guests on air.
United Independents is committed to ensuring that this Election Night is free and accessible to all. The broadcast will go live on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 6 PM to 2 AM Eastern Time. Updates, guest announcements, and viewing instructions can be found at Election2026.live.
