The Northern Loop focuses on the natural scenery of the Pymatuning and Conneaut Lake areas. Gatehouse Winery, situated on rolling hills above the lake, provides locally crafted wine and food offerings, including pizza and charcuterie boards. Wilhelm Winery, housed in a 100-year-old barn, combines wine with local history, featuring an antique winemaking museum in addition to its wine offerings.
Conneaut Cellars Winery & Distillery, located in the resort town of Conneaut Lake, offers more than 20 wine varieties for tasting and provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about its production process. The Northern Loop also connects travelers to outdoor destinations such as Maurice K. Goddard State Park and Lake Wilhelm, offering forests, fields, wetlands, and lake scenery for outdoor enthusiasts.
Travelers can combine the Wine & Brew Trail with Mercer County’s self-guided fall foliage routes, making the journey a comprehensive experience. The Southern Loop takes visitors through the New Wilmington and Route 208 area toward Grove City, where they can enjoy farmland, wooded areas, and rural scenery. The local Amish community provides a unique cultural experience, with visitors advised to watch for horse-drawn buggies and pass safely.
