Eviden Partners for Triple-Mode Railway Smartphones

Paris, France, September 22, 2026, Eviden, the Atos Group product brand leading in cybersecurity products, mission-critical systems and vision AI, today announced an exclusive partnership with AllWayTon Technology to deliver the first triple-mode FRMCS/5G P/GSM-R smartphone on the market. This innovative solution combines Eviden’s MCX technology with AllWayTon’s professional GSM-R mobile devices, creating a single device that seamlessly integrates both GSM-R and FRMCS communications, along with 5G connectivity. The result is a smartphone that supports the transition from the aging GSM-R system to the next-generation FRMCS, a system designed by the UIC (International Union of Railways) to provide secure, high-capacity, mission-critical voice, video, and data communications.

The new smartphones, equipped with Eviden’s MCX Client, a mission-critical communications application, allow railway professionals to access existing GSM-R communications and the advanced FRMCS services through a single device. This advancement is particularly significant as railway infrastructure managers and operators prepare for the gradual replacement of the GSM-R system with FRMCS.
