EnviroSeal, a leading manufacturer of spray foam insulation, has launched a new product, OCX Platinum, designed to meet the diverse needs of the building industry. This high-yield sugar foam combines the efficiency of traditional open-cell foams with the coating-free simplicity of OCX technology, offering contractors a versatile solution for various building projects.
According to Kevin Wiacek, Vice President of Brand and Product Development at EnviroSeal, the company recognized a gap in the market where contractors had to choose between high-yield performance and the convenience of eliminating an additional coating step. "OCX foams offered the simplicity of coating-free installation but fell short on yield," Wiacek explained. "Conversely, higher-yield foams required additional labor and steps, making OCX Platinum an innovative compromise."
OCX Platinum boasts a remarkable yield of up to 19,000 board feet per set, significantly enhancing productivity for contractors. This product is USDA Certified Biobased, Certified PFAS-Free, and GREENGUARD Gold Certified, ensuring that it meets stringent environmental and safety standards. The foam is also certified by the California Department of Public Health, further solidifying its position as a reliable choice for builders.
EnviroSeal has designed OCX Platinum to be easy to install, even under challenging conditions. It processes at temperatures up to 20°F lower than other leading OCX foams, reducing material preparation time and streamlining the installation process. This feature allows contractors to maximize their crew's efficiency and flexibility across various projects.
Robert Jamieson, President and CEO of EnviroSeal, highlighted the company's commitment to providing builders with flexible solutions. "We are focused on offering a broader portfolio of technologies that meet the performance, design, and compliance needs of each project," Jamieson stated. "OCX Platinum expands our range of options, giving contractors another powerful tool to support their work."
The product's launch comes as jurisdictions begin transitioning to the 2024 International Residential Code (IRC) and International Energy Code (IECC). Markets like Phoenix and Nashville have already adopted the 2024 code cycle, with more expected to follow. OCX Platinum is tailored to address these evolving building-code landscapes, making it a valuable asset for builders and contractors navigating these changes.
EnviroSeal's new offering is part of the company's ongoing efforts to innovate and provide sustainable, high-performance insulation solutions. The product's combination of high yield, ease of use, and environmental certifications positions it as a compelling choice for the construction industry. As the building market continues to evolve, OCX Platinum aims to offer contractors a practical and effective solution for their projects.
