This event, recognized as the leading international forum dedicated to Hepatitis Delta Virus (HDV), will explore the virus, epidemiology, virology, immunology, clinical progression, and the effects of therapy on long-term complications.
EIT Pharma will present new analyses from the lonafarnib development program for Chronic Hepatitis Delta (CHD). Additionally, EIT Pharma will present two posters at the meeting.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accepted the New Drug Application for lonafarnib for the treatment of CHD, a serious life-threatening liver disease caused by HDV in individuals who already have hepatitis B virus infection. Lonafarnib is an investigational oral therapy candidate designed to target a key step in the HDV lifecycle and is currently the only oral therapeutic candidate in late-stage clinical development for chronic hepatitis D.
EIT Pharma's commitment to advancing therapies for infectious diseases with significant unmet medical needs is evident in its participation in the Delta Cure International Meeting. The company's research and development efforts, particularly with lonafarnib, are crucial in the ongoing fight against HDV.
This event will provide an overview of the company's ongoing work and the potential impact of lonafarnib on the treatment of CHD.
The Delta Cure International Meeting is a significant platform for researchers, clinicians, and industry experts to share their latest findings and insights on HDV. EIT Pharma's participation underscores its dedication to contributing to the scientific community's understanding and treatment of this complex virus.
