Edgewater Wireless, a pioneer in AI-powered Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing technology, has secured a strategic investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels, a semiconductor-focused angel investment group. This latest development comes as the company closes a private placement that will fuel its continued advancement toward prototype validation and commercial engagements.

The private placement, which saw the issuance of 4,799,666 units at a price of $0.06 per unit, brought in $287,979.96 in gross proceeds. Chairman Brian Imrie of Edgewater Wireless also contributed to the offering, further aligning the company's leadership with its shareholders. Imrie’s participation adds to the company’s financial backing and reinforces the strategic direction of its Spectrum Slicing and PrismIQ platforms.

Edgewater Wireless, based in Ottawa, Canada, and Silicon Valley, California, is leveraging the investment to advance its technology roadmap. The company’s AI-powered Spectrum Slicing platform, which enables multiple concurrent channels in a single band, promises significant improvements in Wi-Fi performance. With 26 patents granted and three AI-related patents pending, Edgewater aims to deliver unparalleled Wi-Fi Quality of Service (QoS) for service providers and their customers.

Andrew Skafel, President and CEO of Edgewater Wireless, expressed the significance of the investment: "SCA’s direct investment is a validation of our novel approach and strengthens Edgewater's strategic investor base at an important point in our development. Together with the strategic semiconductor investor in our first close, SCA brings capital, operating insight, and industry relationships as we advance Spectrum Slicing and PrismIQ toward prototype validation and partner demonstrations."

The investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels marks the second strategic semiconductor investor backing Edgewater’s roadmap. The company’s first investor was also a semiconductor executive, adding to the strategic capital and expertise Edgewater has garnered. Since joining the Silicon Catalyst ecosystem in November 2024, Edgewater has attracted additional investor participation, welcomed a Chief Operating Officer, and accessed resources worth millions in design, fabrication, and commercialization.

The funds raised will be used for semiconductor design, engineering, and product development related to the company’s Spectrum Slicing prototype and general working capital. Edgewater plans to use the proceeds to advance the PrismIQ platform and its next-generation Spectrum Slicing roadmap, including engineering development, prototype validation, and planned demonstrations for high-reliability Wi-Fi and emerging high-performance applications.

"This is a significant milestone for Edgewater Wireless as we move from validation to execution," said Brian Imrie, Chairman of Edgewater Wireless. "The company has built a strong foundation and is advancing toward milestones that can demonstrate the relevance of Spectrum Slicing across high-reliability Wi-Fi and emerging high-performance applications."

The coming period is expected to include important engineering and ecosystem milestones as Edgewater stages an initial product release in the first half of 2027. With the support of strategic investors and a robust technology platform, Edgewater Wireless is well-positioned to redefine Wi-Fi connectivity and drive economic gains for its service providers and customers.
