Lausanne, Switzerland, Oct. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Distalmotion, a global medical technology company focused on expanding access to robotic surgery in outpatient settings, has secured a senior secured term loan facility of up to $70 million from Perceptive Advisors. This financing will support the company's continued expansion in the US ambulatory surgery center (ASC) market and further development of its DEXTER® Robotic Surgery System.

The DEXTER® Robotic Surgery System is designed to meet the specific needs of ASCs, which are increasingly seeking robotic solutions that fit their operating environment. The system combines a small, mobile footprint with flexible surgical and supply chain workflows, making it easier for ASCs to introduce robotic surgery while aligning with their efficiency and growth metrics. The DEXTER® system is cleared for use in the top four highest-volume soft tissue outpatient procedures in the US, including cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia repair, ventral hernia repair, and hysterectomy. In Europe, the system is intended to assist in urologic laparoscopic surgical procedures, general laparoscopic surgical procedures, and gynecologic laparoscopic surgical procedures.

The DEXTER® Robotic Surgery System is authorized for use in inguinal and ventral hernia repair, cholecystectomy, total benign hysterectomy, and other procedures including femoral hernia in general surgery and endometriosis resection, oophorectomy, salpingectomy, sacrocolpopexy, sacrocervicopexy, sacrohysteropexy, and tubal ligation in gynecology. The system is indicated for adult use, defined as 22 years old and older. The DEXTER® system is commercially available in the United States and Europe.

Distalmotion is a global MedTech company with a mission to empower access to the benefits of robotic surgery by simplifying operations with its DEXTER robot. The company aims to broaden access to robotic surgery for more surgeons and sites of care globally, including hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), to increase the number of patients who benefit from best-in-class minimally invasive care. Well-suited to any size operating room (OR), DEXTER is easily moved, quickly set up, and seamlessly integrated into existing procedures.

The company is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, with a US office in Cleveland, Ohio.
