DBGallery has introduced a new feature that transforms digital asset management (DAM) for businesses of all sizes. The company’s latest release, "AI Knowledge Layer for Visual Assets," automates the process of tagging and organizing photos, graphics, and videos, turning what was once a labor-intensive task into a streamlined, automated workflow.
Historically, DAM systems were seen as a luxury, reserved for large media organizations with dedicated archiving staff. Smaller teams, including those in tourism, municipal government, higher education, and marketing, often struggled with the sheer volume of manual tagging required to make their digital assets searchable. This new AI technology, however, shifts the paradigm by offering an affordable, automated solution.
According to Glenn Rogers, Director of Product and Project Management at DBGallery, "For years, visual assets were lost in the digital chaos because there wasn't the bandwidth to tag them properly. Introducing an automated metadata layer changes that. Now, visual media becomes instantly discoverable through structured context, custom prompts, embedded OCR text, and interactive video transcripts."
The AI Knowledge Layer boasts several key capabilities. It automatically enriches uploaded content with OCR text, identifies objects and faces, and summarizes photo and video content. Users can also customize AI description prompts, tailoring them to specific domains such as architectural style identification, brand compliance, social media captions, or emotional tone analysis. These descriptions can be outputted as HTML or JSON, making them easy to integrate with websites or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Another significant feature is the interactive video transcription and timeline. This tool generates time-stamped, sentence-by-sentence transcripts that align with video playback, allowing teams to jump to any moment in the video with a click. The system also analyzes non-verbal scenes, inserting AI-generated descriptions into pauses in speech or non-verbal clips, ensuring comprehensive visual context.
DBGallery’s platform is designed for scalability, supporting millions of assets and thousands of users. It includes Single Sign-On (SSO) and granular action-level permissions, ensuring secure collaboration. The platform also provides full audit trails, custom metadata fields, usage analytics, and deployment options in both cloud and on-premises environments.
DBGallery’s expansion into automated metadata tagging marks a significant shift in how organizations manage their visual assets. By integrating cutting-edge AI with a secure, scalable foundation, the company aims to democratize enterprise-grade DAM for businesses of all sizes, without the need for additional administrative staff or compromising on data governance.
With its proven track record, DBGallery now stands as a leader in DAM solutions, serving over 100 brands across more than 25 countries. The company’s latest release underscores its commitment to innovation and accessibility in the digital asset management space.
