Datamaran appoints Bert Sinnema as CTO to lead AI-driven technology vision

Datamaran, an AI-powered risk and governance software provider, has appointed Bert Sinnema as its new Chief Technology Officer. Based out of the company’s office in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, Sinnema will lead Datamaran’s global engineering and product teams, including the engineering hub in Valencia, Spain. His role will focus on driving the technology and product vision behind the platform, which helps organizations understand and manage evolving risks and opportunities.

Sinnema steps into the role at a crucial time for Datamaran, as the company deepens its use of artificial intelligence (AI) to provide customers with faster, more actionable insights into risk, regulation, and stakeholder expectations. His responsibilities will include overseeing the product vision, strategy, and technology roadmap, from setting direction to architecture, delivery, and the teams building it.

With over 12 years of product engineering leadership experience, Sinnema brings a wealth of expertise to Datamaran. He joins from Eye Security, Europe’s fastest-growing cybersecurity company, where he served as Vice President of Engineering and built the product and engineering organization from the ground up. At Eye Security, Sinnema scaled the multi-hub international team threefold and helped the company secure a €60 million Series C round.

Prior to Eye Security, Sinnema spent over three years at HackerOne, the world’s leading ethical hacking and bug bounty platform, rising to Director of Engineering. Earlier in his career, he founded and served as CTO of SmartLockr, a secure communications and privacy platform he scaled across three countries and took through Microsoft’s Ventures Accelerator in Berlin.
