Chobani is set to embark on its next phase of growth with a significant $1.2 billion investment in a new 1.5 million-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The facility will support the creation of more than 900 jobs and serve as a major hub for the company's food and beverage innovation.

The investment marks a strategic expansion for Chobani, which has seen a 20% annual growth rate over the past three years. As part of this initiative, the company will acquire the existing Allentown manufacturing facility and its equipment, building on the state-of-the-art infrastructure that was first operational in 2021. This move will enable Chobani to introduce a new generation of dairy products, including high-protein shakes made with real ingredients, to meet the evolving needs of consumers.

Hamdi Ulukaya, founder and CEO of Chobani, emphasized the significance of the Allentown location: "When I first walked through this factory, I knew there was something special here. The facility, the equipment, the scale, but most importantly, the people. There's already an incredibly talented team here that knows how to make great food. The foundation is strong, and we have an opportunity to build something extraordinary on top of it."

The new campus is expected to source more than 3 billion pounds of Pennsylvania milk annually at full capacity, creating a significant demand for the state's dairy farmers. The facility's proximity to approximately 40% of the U.S. population within a 500-mile radius offers Chobani a strategic advantage in reaching major consumer markets.

The investment is also part of a broader partnership with Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP). Chobani will take over operations at the Allentown facility, and KDP will retain some current employees while others are offered positions with Chobani. This transition aims to ensure continuity for employees and their families.

Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania praised the investment, stating, "This $1.2 billion investment from Chobani is the largest private sector investment in the history of Pennsylvania's agriculture industry and will strengthen our dairy industry, support our farmers, and reinforce our position as a national leader in agriculture and food manufacturing."

Chobani's expansion in Allentown is part of a larger $4 billion investment across its U.S. manufacturing network. Other projects include a new dairy processing facility in Rome, New York, and expansions in Twin Falls, Idaho, and Norton Shores, Michigan. These investments aim to enhance Chobani's manufacturing capabilities and create jobs while supporting the agricultural and manufacturing communities that have been integral to the company's growth.

According to Tim Cofer, CEO of Keurig Dr Pepper, "These transactions reflect the success of our partnership with Chobani and are designed to create value for both organizations. Together, they enhance our financial flexibility, strengthen the efficiency of our manufacturing network, and support the expansion of our important distribution partnership with Chobani."

Chobani's mission remains centered on making high-quality and nutritious food accessible to more people while elevating communities and promoting wellness. The company, founded by Hamdi Ulukaya in 2005, continues to expand its product offerings and deepen its commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
