CHICAGO, Oct. 30, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Nearly 1,200 Teamsters Local 727 members working for parking operators in Chicagoland are preparing to take action, as negotiations continue ahead of the October 31 expiration of the Master Parking Agreement. The workers, who are part of a larger group of nearly 10,000 hardworking men and women, are voting to authorize an unfair labor practice (ULP) strike.
John T. Coli Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 727, emphasized the importance of the workers' role in maintaining smooth parking operations at various locations across the greater Chicagoland area.
The workers are fighting for a fair contract that recognizes their contributions.
The parking operators negotiate as a group through the Chicago Parking Association under the Master Parking Agreement. Local 727 has filed or is preparing unfair labor practice charges over multiple alleged labor law violations, including refusal to bargain, failure to provide information, unilateral changes, retaliation, and unlawful surveillance.
The workers are prepared to take action to protect their rights and ensure they receive the fair contract they deserve. The strike, if authorized, will affect parking operations at SP Plus/Metropolis, LAZ Parking, Interpark, ABM, Imperial/Reimagine Parking, Legacy Parking, ACE, Peoples Auto Park, Advance Parking, Metro Valet, Park Plus, Pioneer Parking, Vargas, Secure Parking, and Windy City Parking Services.
The workers' actions come as the clock ticks down to the October 31 deadline for the Master Parking Agreement. With nearly 1,200 members involved, the strike could have significant implications for parking operations in the Chicagoland area.
