Cellular Intelligence Boosts Advisory Board with AI and Biotech Experts

Cellular Intelligence, an AI company focused on decoding cell signaling, has bolstered its Scientific Advisory Board with four distinguished experts: Yann LeCun, Robert "Bob" Langer, Jens Nielsen, and Fabian Theis. This move marks a significant step in the company's mission to develop a universal foundation model of cell signaling and translate that knowledge into therapeutic applications.

Yann LeCun, a Turing Award recipient and former Chief AI Scientist at Meta, joins the board to contribute his expertise in deep learning and AI systems that learn from data. LeCun's research centers on AI systems that predict the outcomes of actions, a key area of interest for Cellular Intelligence.

Robert "Bob" Langer, an Institute Professor at MIT and the most cited engineer in history, brings a wealth of experience in drug delivery and tissue engineering. As a co-founder of Moderna and several other companies, Langer has received numerous accolades, including the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

Jens Nielsen, CEO of the BioInnovation Institute and a professor at Chalmers University of Technology, brings a deep understanding of systems biology and cell behavior. As a knighted scientist and member of several prestigious academies, Nielsen is well-positioned to contribute to Cellular Intelligence's ambitious goals.

Fabian Theis, Director of the Computational Health Center at Helmholtz Munich and Scientific Director of Helmholtz AI, is a co-founder of the Human Cell Atlas and a member of its Board of Directors. His work on machine-learning methods that predict cellular development and drug responses has earned him the 2023 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, Germany's highest research honor.

The appointments come as Cellular Intelligence continues to expand its capabilities. In May 2026, the company acquired STEM-PD, an investigational Parkinson's disease cell therapy with FDA Fast Track designation from Novo Nordisk. The company's investors include Khosla Ventures, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and Novo Nordisk.
