Canadian Critical Minerals Inc., a mining company primarily focused on copper production assets in Canada, has announced an extension and amendment of the Capacity Funding Agreement with the Ktunaxa Nation Council (KNC) regarding the Bull River Mine Project. This agreement, which was initially signed on May 25, 2022, has now been extended until December 31, 2027. The Bull River Mine Project is located within the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, near Cranbrook, British Columbia.

The Capacity Funding Agreement, which was extended, serves as a framework for information sharing and engagement between Canadian Critical Minerals Inc. and the Ktunaxa Nation Council. The funds will be used to defray costs incurred by the KNC in the regulatory review of the Bull River Mine Project application, as well as for other engagement activities between the two parties.

The Bull River Mine Project is a significant asset for Canadian Critical Minerals Inc., as it is the company's main asset, containing 150 million pounds of copper. The project is currently in the regulatory review phase, and the company has already notified the KNC and the British Columbia Major Mines Office of its intent to begin processing existing mineralized stockpiled material on surface at the mine and then resume underground mining operations.

The Bull River Mine Project is situated within the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, and the KNC represents the Ktunaxa Nation at the direction of the four Ktunaxa First Nation governments: ʔAkisq̓nuk First Nation, ʔaq̓am, yaqan nuʔkiy, and Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi'it First Nation. The extension of the Capacity Funding Agreement underscores the importance of maintaining a collaborative and structured approach to the regulatory process, ensuring that the KNC's input and concerns are adequately addressed.

Canadian Critical Minerals Inc. also owns a 4% interest in XXIX Metal Corp., which holds a 100% interest in the Thierry copper project near Pickle Lake, Ontario, and a 100% interest in the Opemiska copper project near Chapais-Chibagamau, Quebec. The company's commitment to engaging with the Ktunaxa Nation and other indigenous communities reflects its broader strategy of responsible mining and sustainable development.
