HAGERSTOWN, Md. and VILLANOVA D'ASTI, Italy, Oct. 13, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- On September 25, 2026, Jamison Door Company and its parent company, the BMP Group, broke ground on a new 355,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Hagerstown, Maryland. The groundbreaking marks the first phase of a long-term vision for expanding the group's manufacturing presence in North America.
The new facility, located in the Mount Aetna Technology Park, is expected to cost between $35 million and $50 million and will expand Jamison Door Company's and BMP Group's U.S. manufacturing capabilities. The project is being developed by ARCO Design/Build and will integrate advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, research and development, and product testing to support continued growth across the group's portfolio of brands.
Headquartered in Italy, BMP Group chose Washington County for the new campus due to the region's robust manufacturing infrastructure, business resources, and the group's longstanding connection to the community through Jamison Door Company, which has been manufacturing doors in Hagerstown since 1906.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by state and local officials, manufacturing industry leaders, and community partners.
The project has received significant state and local support, including a $2 million grant through the Senator George C. Edwards Fund and an additional $2 million grant from Washington County. The Maryland Department of Commerce and the Hagerstown-Washington County Industrial Foundation (CHIEF) have also supported the project.
The new facility is expected to bring new production lines from Europe, including Salco Industrial Doors, Champion Door, and Campisa dock levelers, and will support up to 250 employees. Del. William Wivell presented a citation on behalf of the Maryland House of Delegates, while proclamations were presented from the office of U.S. Rep. April McClain Delaney and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
Construction of the first phase is expected to conclude in the first quarter of 2028, with manufacturing operations beginning shortly thereafter. The facility will incorporate North American brands and will be a one-stop shop for product lines, expanding production capabilities. Planning is already underway for a second phase of the 58-acre campus, supporting BMP's continued manufacturing growth in North America.
