On September 3, 2026, Black History 365 Education (BH365) and Joe Young Entertainment (JYE) announced a groundbreaking national partnership to expand the learning of Black History for young people. The collaboration was unveiled at a press conference at the BH365 Arlington, Texas office, where the new book, "Kemet: The Time Traveler," was officially launched.

"Kemet: The Time Traveler" follows Kemet, a ten-year-old African American boy, as he travels through time aboard his ship, the Sankofa 82, meeting key figures and pivotal moments in Black history. The book brings together the Kemet comic books and comic strips created by award-winning cartoonist and producer Joe Young, offering a single-volume resource designed for classroom, library, and family use.

The partnership leverages BH365's K, 12 ethnic studies curriculum and publishing platform with JYE's storytelling and character-driven media, providing educators with an engaging and age-appropriate tool to explore Black history. "Young people deserve to see themselves in history as heroes, not footnotes," said Dr. Walter Milton, Jr., Founder and CEO of BH365 Education. "Kemet does what great teaching does. He makes the past feel close enough to touch. This partnership puts that experience in the hands of students, families, and teachers across the country."

Joe Young, President of Joe Young Entertainment and creator of the Kemet series, explained, "I created Kemet, the Time Traveler, to find an innovative way to make Black history exciting and relevant for young people. By combining comics, adventure, and technology, we meet kids where they are, educating, entertaining, and inspiring them to learn more about their history. Partnering with BH365 means these stories now travel with the curriculum, the classroom, and the community behind them."

The press conference included an official announcement of the collaboration, the unveiling of the new book, remarks from Dr. Milton and Joe Young, and a special appearance by the Kemet mascot. Media interviews and behind-the-scenes video were also available on site.

"Kemet: The Time Traveler" is part of a broader initiative to bring the Kemet franchise to a wider audience. The series includes comic books, youth activity sheets, television specials, public service announcements, and a Kemet mascot, all designed to engage and educate young people about their history.

Dr. Milton added, "This partnership is about more than just a book. It's about creating a comprehensive, inclusive educational experience that connects young people to their heritage and helps them understand the relevance of Black history today."

The collaboration marks a significant step in making Black history more accessible and engaging for young learners, ensuring that the stories of the past become a powerful tool for the future.
