SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- BioStack, a Y Combinator startup, has announced a significant milestone in its mission to revolutionize medical artificial intelligence (AI) through the creation of a comprehensive data infrastructure. The company has transformed over 100 million fragmented patient records into multimodal training data and reinforcement learning environments, enabling AI and biotech companies to develop models that can better understand disease progression, treatment efficacy, and patient outcomes.

BioStack's platform connects clinical information from disparate health systems and geographies, including notes, labs, imaging, medications, treatments, and outcomes. This integration provides a more comprehensive view of patient care, facilitating population-level and hospital-level discoveries. The company's CEO, Sanat Mishra, emphasized the importance of this data in enhancing both clinical decision-making and the development of future medical innovations.

The $9.5 million in seed funding, led by investors including Peak XV, Afore Capital, DCVC, Emerson Collective, SV Angel, Verdict Capital, Streamlined Ventures, and Y Combinator, will support BioStack's expansion across the United States and international markets. The funds will also be used to develop the company's technology platform and grow its engineering and research teams.

BioStack's platform is currently operational in the U.S., Brazil, India, and Argentina, providing access to a diverse patient population and healthcare environments. The company's technology can support various applications, including the development and evaluation of medical AI models, clinical research, disease modeling, biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and treatment-response analysis.

One of the key applications of BioStack's platform is in the creation of proprietary datasets from de-identified data collected from each provider system. These datasets can be used for medical research, drug development, and the training and evaluation of healthcare AI models. For instance, BioStack has combined over several hundred thousand fragmented X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other pathology and clinical records, creating a powerful resource for training AI agents to assist clinicians in evaluating treatment options and predicting patient outcomes.

In India, BioStack is collaborating with hospitals to help connect cancer patients with an investigational cancer vaccine program. By leveraging the company's platform, patients' clinical data can support biotech companies' development efforts, while eligible patients may gain access to highly personalized investigational treatments.

The next frontier of healthcare AI, according to Pushpak Kedia, Vice President of Peak XV, will depend on access to high-quality, longitudinal data that reflects how patients are treated over time. Kedia believes that BioStack is building critical infrastructure that connects fragmented clinical information and transforms it into a valuable resource for clinicians, researchers, and AI developers.

With its diverse patient population and international reach, BioStack is well-positioned to drive innovation in the medical AI space. The company's platform offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between clinical care and medical innovation, providing researchers and AI developers with the data they need to gain a richer understanding of disease progression and treatment response.
