Belmont Resources Inc. has appointed Ken Wheatley, P.Geol., M.Sc., as its Senior Geological Advisor for the Crackingstone Uranium-REE Project. This move comes as the company seeks to advance exploration efforts in the 100%-owned property, located in the historic Beaverlodge uranium district near Uranium City, Saskatchewan.
Wheatley, with over four decades of uranium exploration experience, most recently as Vice President, Exploration with Forum Energy Metals Corp. (2007-2023), brings a wealth of expertise to the role. His past roles include District Geologist, East Athabasca, with AREVA Resources Canada Inc. (1998-2007), and various technical roles with Uranerz Exploration and Mining Ltd., TOTAL Minatco Ltee./Ltd., and Amok Ltee./Ltd., where he was instrumental in the discovery and delineation of several major Athabasca Basin uranium deposits.
Crackingstone is a fault-hosted, Beaverlodge-model uranium project, covering approximately 4 kilometers of the Black Bay Shear Zone and hosting four past-producing uranium mines. The property's strategic location, approximately 6 kilometers west of Uranium City, offers significant logistical advantages, including access to existing infrastructure, transportation, and local services that can support ongoing exploration activities and future development. The Crackingstone Uranium Project is drill-permitted, allowing for immediate exploration efforts.

In a February 3, 2026, news release, Belmont Resources Inc. announced the re-assaying of selected intervals of historic drill core at Crackingstone, identifying multiple intervals with elevated uranium and rare earth element (REE) concentrations. Mr. Wheatley is now working with the company to incorporate this uranium-REE potential, together with the project's structural and geophysical data, into the design of the next phase of exploration and drilling at Crackingstone.
The company's exploration efforts are supported by an AI-driven approach, which has been used to compile and analyze decades of historic drilling, geophysics, and geochemistry data. This integration is expected to sharpen the company's view of where the next exploration holes should be drilled. The Crackingstone Project benefits from an airborne radiometric uranium survey, which has highlighted historical uranium occurrences and mined areas, as well as the location of the 2008 drilling area within a structurally controlled uranium-mineralized corridor.
Airborne radiometric thorium surveys have also been conducted, illustrating elevated thorium responses associated with major structural corridors. These responses are interpreted as geological context for REE-enriched pegmatite systems identified through modern re-assaying. Radiometric data are provided for geological context only and are not indicative of mineral grades or economic mineralization.
