Belloft Launches in Lagos to Tackle Fake School Documents

Belloft, a school management system developed by Olexweb, has launched in Lagos, Nigeria, aiming to address the persistent issue of fake receipts and edited report cards in private schools. The system, which is designed to operate seamlessly across various curricula, promises to revolutionize school administration by ensuring the authenticity of all documents produced.
Every document generated by Belloft, including report cards, receipts, admission letters, and ID cards, carries a unique code that can be verified online in seconds. This feature is intended to prevent the circulation of forged documents, thereby enhancing the integrity of school records.
Key features of Belloft include a "bell" function that allows the school office to tap a teacher's name, and the teacher's phone rings, even when the app is closed. This ensures immediate communication between staff and parents. Additionally, the system features a "Cheat-proof staff check-in" that requires staff to scan a front-desk code that changes every 30 seconds, making it impossible for a photo sent from home to work. Teachers can enter student scores once, and the system automatically calculates totals, grades, and positions. Belloft supports multiple curricula, including Nigerian (WAEC-style), British (IGCSE), American (GPA), and IB grading, allowing for flexible use across different educational systems.
Safety and privacy are paramount in Belloft's design. Every school gets its own separate database, and sensitive records are encrypted when stored. Nightly backups are sent to storage owned by the school, and the service complies with Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023. Safe pickups are also a feature, with only parent-approved individuals able to collect a child, and parents instantly alerted to any changes.
Belloft offers a free two-week trial, allowing schools to start using the system immediately. For those interested in a more comprehensive setup, the company is offering 10 founding places that include full setup, record migration, staff training, and a lower monthly price for as long as the school stays with the service.
The launch of Belloft marks a significant step in addressing the challenges faced by private schools in Nigeria, particularly in ensuring the authenticity of important documents. As the system gains traction, it could potentially set a new standard for school management in the region.
