Beamr, a leader in video optimization technology, has joined forces with VAST Data, the AI Operating System company, as part of VAST Cosmos, a global ecosystem of developers and innovators. This strategic partnership will enable broadcasters and content owners to modernize and monetize their video archives through AI-enhanced workflows.
At the upcoming IBC 2026 exhibition, which runs from September 11 to 14 in Amsterdam, the companies will showcase a demonstration of their collaboration. This partnership, which leverages the VAST AI Operating System and NVIDIA Video Super Resolution, aims to upscale and AI-enhance lower-resolution video archives, ensuring cost-effective storage and delivery.
According to Sharon Carmel, CEO of Beamr, "By integrating with the VAST AI Operating System, we are helping broadcasters capitalize on their most valuable media assets. Our content-adaptive video technology, combined with NVIDIA's advanced video enhancement capabilities, allows for efficient modernization of video archives, ensuring that broadcasters can realize more value from their existing content at scale."
The partnership addresses the challenges faced by broadcasters and content owners in enhancing their video archives. High-resolution demands from global viewers require sophisticated AI-enhancement techniques to process and deliver content. The Beamr technology, along with NVIDIA's Video Super Resolution, provides a scalable solution that can upscale content to 1080p or 4K, while Beamr's content-adaptive bitrate (CABR) technology reduces file sizes by up to 50%, optimizing delivery costs.
John Mao, Vice President of Global Technology Alliances at VAST Data, highlighted the potential of this collaboration: "Media companies are sitting on enormous video archives with untapped value, but unlocking that value with AI has to make economic sense at scale. By bringing NVIDIA-accelerated video enhancement and Beamr’s content-adaptive encoding to the VAST AI Operating System, broadcasters can modernize the content they already own where that data lives, creating new opportunities to enhance, reuse, and monetize their media libraries without adding unnecessary infrastructure complexity."
The demonstration at IBC 2026 will showcase the entire pipeline, which runs on NVIDIA RTX PRO GPUs and can be deployed in the cloud or on-premises. This flexibility ensures that broadcasters can tailor their workflows to fit their specific needs, whether they are working in the cloud or on their own infrastructure.
Broadcasters and streaming platforms attending IBC 2026 can book a meeting and join the demonstration at beamr.com/ibc26 or visit Beamr at Stand 1.D22 (Hall 1).
The partnership between Beamr and VAST Data represents a significant step forward in the digital transformation of video content. It not only enhances the quality and accessibility of existing video archives but also opens new avenues for monetization. As the video industry continues to evolve, this collaboration underscores the importance of leveraging AI and advanced technologies to meet the demands of modern viewers.
