Austin Blessings Co-op, founded in 2019 by Riverbend Church, has expanded its reach to East Austin through ABOC East, a ministry located on the campus of Austin Reconciliation Church (ARC) at 7000 Cameron Road. This expansion marks a new chapter in the organization's mission to serve vulnerable neighbors in Central Texas.
ABOC East, a collaborative effort between Riverbend Church and ARC, aims to provide essential support to the community. Through the Harvest Blessings Food Pantry, the ministry serves an average of 400 families each week, offering healthy food options to those in need. Additionally, the Woven Blessings Boutique facilitates approximately 100 checkouts weekly, providing affordable clothing and other necessities.
The ministry's approach is not just about providing assistance; it is about building relationships and fostering a sense of community. According to Brian Rawson, Missions Pastor at Riverbend Church and Founder of Austin Blessings Co-op, the organization has grown from a vision to serve neighbors to a community where people find practical support, meaningful connections, and opportunities to serve one another.
Pastor Alex Montano, Senior Pastor of Austin Reconciliation Church, echoed Rawson's sentiments, expressing gratitude for the partnership and the positive impact it has had on the East Austin community.
Thiago Duzzi, Director of ABOC East, shared his vision for the future, emphasizing the importance of relationships, service, and the love of Christ.
ABOC East operates out of the Austin Reconciliation Church campus, leveraging the resources and commitment of the church to serve the East Austin community. The organization's mobile app, ATX Blessings, available on the App Store and Google Play, provides updates on assistance programs, volunteer opportunities, events, and community resources.
As Austin Blessings Co-op looks ahead, the organization hopes to build on its momentum by serving more families, welcoming more volunteers, and strengthening partnerships throughout the community.
The expansion of ABOC East into East Austin represents a significant step in the organization's mission to serve and strengthen the community. Through practical assistance, compassionate relationships, and collaborative partnerships, Austin Blessings Co-op continues to make a positive impact in Central Texas.
