Atos Develops Digital Service Model for Barcelona City Council Employees

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, has been selected by the Municipal Institute of Innovation and Technology of Barcelona to develop a new digital service model for the city council employees. The project, which will involve the collaboration of Atos and the Municipal Institute, aims to enhance the technological support and user experience for thousands of municipal professionals.

The initiative, set to begin in September 2026, will focus on creating a more agile, accessible, and efficient service model for the City Council employees. This will be achieved through the incorporation of new automation, self-service, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The ultimate goal is to simplify processes, reduce response times, and offer closer and more personalized attention to the municipal staff.

According to Emili Rubió, the manager of the Municipal Institute of Innovation and Technology, "This project represents a further step in our commitment to evolve towards a more agile, closer, and more efficient support model, incorporating new capabilities that allow us to simplify processes, improve customer service, and continue to promote innovation within Barcelona City Council."

Atos, known for its expertise in AI-powered, secure, and end-to-end digital services, will collaborate with the Municipal Institute to achieve these objectives.
