Founded in 2011, the company has a presence in the U.S. and India, employing approximately 200 people. With this new venture, Athena aims to tap into the European market, which is a significant player in the manufacturing sector.
The company's European operation will be headquartered in Porto, where it currently has six employees. Athena plans to expand its team to 20 within the first year and eventually build a workforce of 100 over the next five years. The company's goal is to secure at least five clients by the end of its fiscal year in December.
Senthil Ranganathan, the founder and CEO of Athena, expressed the importance of the European expansion.
Athena Technology Solutions will operate from Porto, providing MES selection, implementation, integration, and support, as well as PLM, ERP, and Managed Services. Its technology partners include Critical Manufacturing, Siemens, and Twinzo.

Athena is currently recruiting project managers, program managers, developers, and sales professionals in Portugal and other European markets. The company aims to bring its innovative technology, including FabOrchestrator.AI™, to European manufacturers.
Athena may open a satellite office in Germany as the business grows, but for now, the focus is on establishing a strong presence in Portugal. The company's expansion into Europe marks a significant step in its growth strategy, aiming to capture a larger share of the global manufacturing market.
