ORLANDO, Fla., October 13, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Anixa Biosciences, Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the treatment and prevention of cancer, is set to host a live investor webinar on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time. The webinar will feature a presentation by Dr. Amit Kumar, the company’s Chairman and CEO, who will discuss the progress of the company’s two clinical-stage oncology programs: a novel CAR-T therapy for recurrent, treatment-resistant ovarian cancer and a breast cancer vaccine with therapeutic and preventive potential.

Dr. Kumar will review the progress of lira-cel, a FSHR-targeted CAR-T therapy designed to attack both ovarian cancer cells and tumor-associated blood vessels. Early clinical observations include encouraging survival in heavily pretreated patients, with one patient surviving nearly 2.5 years following treatment. The first patient at the current dose level has exhibited stable disease at three months. As the trial advances into higher-dose cohorts, Anixa expects additional patient-level data over the next few months.

The webinar will also highlight the breast cancer vaccine, which successfully completed its Phase 1 testing in 35 patients, meeting all primary endpoints. Developed with Cleveland Clinic and funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, the vaccine targets α-lactalbumin, a protein associated with breast cancer. The vaccine demonstrated no reported safety concerns and achieved a 74% protocol-specified immune-response rate.

Anixa Biosciences is advancing these programs through collaborations with leading research institutions, including Moffitt Cancer Center and Cleveland Clinic. The company’s capital-efficient development strategy is evident in its financial position as of July 31, 2026, when it held approximately $14 million in cash and short-term investments, with no debt, warrants, or preferred stock. This lean operating structure enables Anixa to advance two clinical programs while maintaining a focus on strategic partnerships.

Dr. Kumar, who has extensive experience in technology enterprises and venture capital, is currently Chairman and CEO of Anixa Biosciences. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Acacia Research Corporation from 2002 to 2008 and has been a member of the Board of the American Cancer Society since 2016. His background includes roles as an investor, founder, director, and CEO of several technology enterprises, and he has worked with venture capital firms and Fortune 500 companies.
