HONG KONG, Oct. 13, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- American Express has announced its title sponsorship of the inaugural American Express Hong Kong Sail Grand Prix, marking the event's debut in one of Asia's most influential entertainment destinations on January 23-24, 2027. The sponsorship places American Express at the heart of SailGP's Hong Kong debut, offering exclusive benefits to its Cardmembers.
SailGP, the world's most exciting racing on water, will bring its close-to-shore stadium racing format to Victoria Harbour, transforming the waterfront into a purpose-built Race Stadium. The event will feature identical high-tech F50 catamarans racing just metres from the shore at speeds exceeding 100 km/h, providing an exhilarating spectacle for spectators.
American Express Cardmembers will have the opportunity to secure their tickets through a priority booking period, with the first access available from 10am HKT Wednesday, October 21, to 5pm HKT Thursday, October 22, 2026. SailGP+ members will have their exclusive presale window from 10am HKT Friday, October 23, to 5pm HKT Monday, October 26. The general public can purchase tickets starting from 10am HKT Tuesday, October 27. Ticket prices range from $700 for a one-day Waterfront Grandstand pass to $1,120 for a Race Weekend pass.
The American Express Hong Kong Sail Grand Prix will be the opening event of the 2027 Rolex SailGP Championship Season, followed by stops in Australia, San Francisco, Bermuda, Canada, New York, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, and Italy. The championship will culminate with the Grand Final, which is scheduled for November or December.
