The Academy of Intentional Magic (AIM), a creative learning platform that has built on the legacy of the nearly twenty-year-old Poetry Barn, has officially launched. The new organization aims to serve artists across various disciplines, offering a comprehensive ecosystem that includes education, mentoring, publishing, and outreach programs.

At the core of AIM’s expanded offerings are eight interconnected areas. These include an online community, education programs, mentoring, publishing, a 4,000-volume poetry library, retreats, and outreach partnerships with high schools. The launch marks the platform’s evolution from a niche poetry-focused workshop to a broader creative commons.

AIM's fall programming kicked off with a workshop titled 'Sky Writing: Write Your Own Horoscope.' Led by somatic astrologer Cory Nakasue, the workshop is scheduled for September 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The event is part of AIM’s ongoing commitment to fostering a space for creative expression and exploration.

To celebrate the Labor Day weekend, AIM invited artists to share their works-in-progress in a Murmurations event. Murmurations, in the context of AIM, refers to a collective or community of individuals, often artists, coming together to share and engage with each other's creative processes.

Launched in 2007, the Poetry Barn, which AIM grew out of, was known for its pioneering online MFA-quality poetry workshops. This foundation has now expanded into a full ecosystem that supports artists across various disciplines, ensuring a robust and diverse creative environment.

The Academy of Intentional Magic is a commons for creative practice, celebrating art, imagination, and mystery. By combining traditional and modern tools, AIM aims to create a vibrant and inclusive space for artists to thrive and collaborate.
