Zoomlion Expands Local Operations in Europe

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its European operations, Chinese heavy machinery manufacturer Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Zoomlion) has intensified its local activities in the continent. This effort follows a significant partnership meeting held on August 19, during which the company showcased its plans for expanding its local business in areas such as sales, manufacturing, service, talent development, and digital capabilities. The gathering, which took place at Zoomlion’s German factory and its German subsidiary, m-tec, brought together partners and clients from multiple European countries.
During the meeting, key issues such as market development, product offerings, and local activities were discussed. Attendees highlighted the company's progress in product quality and technological prowess, while also identifying critical areas for improvement, including long-term service capabilities, spare parts supply, and product range expansion. Zhan Chunxin, the company’s President and CEO, acknowledged these priorities, emphasizing the strategic importance of Europe to Zoomlion and the company's commitment to a long-term local presence.
To address these needs, Zoomlion intends to expand its spare parts and after-sales service networks across Europe, aiming to enhance response times and spare parts availability. The firm also plans to launch a digital service platform for clients, designed to automate maintenance interventions and track them throughout the process. This initiative will facilitate easier access to equipment information, spare parts, and service details for clients. Additionally, Zoomlion will continue to introduce new products and technologies, broadening its portfolio to better meet local market demands.
On August 25, Zhan Chunxin visited the production and research and development sites of m-tec in Germany. At the facility, he reviewed m-tec’s activities and technological advancements, including its 3D printing applications. Zhan underscored Zoomlion's intention to support m-tec by leveraging the group's global market presence, R&D capabilities, and financial resources, fostering closer collaboration in technology, product, and market development areas.
Since its acquisition by Zoomlion in 2014, m-tec has expanded its expertise in ready-mixed mortar and construction materials, collaborating closely with Zoomlion on technological, commercial, and product fronts. This partnership has made m-tec a crucial component of the group's European localization strategy.
Zoomlion has established sales, service, financing, and manufacturing capabilities across Europe through local production sites, including CIFA in Italy, m-tec and WILBERT in Germany, and its hoist factory in Hungary. This localized presence allows the company to bring its production capabilities, technical expertise, human resources, and customer service closer to European markets.
Looking ahead, Zoomlion plans to integrate its global resources with local capabilities to enhance customer service and drive long-term growth in Europe.
