Zenas BioPharma is committed to advancing therapies that can provide meaningful benefits to patients suffering from autoimmune diseases and inflammatory conditions. The company's management team will discuss the progress of two late-stage product candidates, obexelimab and orelabrutinib. Obexelimab, the lead product, is a bifunctional monoclonal antibody designed to bind to CD19 and FcγRIIb, inhibiting B cell activity in autoimmune diseases while avoiding B cell depletion. Zenas believes that this unique mechanism of action and the self-administered, subcutaneous injection regimen of obexelimab could enable sustained control across multiple chronic autoimmune diseases.
Orelabrutinib, a highly selective, CNS-penetrant, oral small molecule BTK inhibitor, is being developed as a potentially best-in-class therapy. It targets pathogenic B cells both in the periphery and within the central nervous system (CNS) and has the potential to directly modulate macrophages and microglial cells in the CNS, addressing compartmentalized inflammation and disease progression in multiple sclerosis (MS).
The company's earlier-stage programs include ZB021, a novel, potentially best-in-class oral IL-17AA/AF inhibitor; ZB022, a preclinical, potentially best-in-class oral, brain-penetrant TYK2 inhibitor; and ZB014, a preclinical, half-life extended anti-CD19 and FcγRIIb monoclonal antibody.
