VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Zacatecas Silver Corp. has announced positive results from its recent diamond drilling at the El Cristo vein system in Zacatecas, Mexico. The company encountered silver and base metal mineralization in 11 out of 20 drill holes, indicating the presence of significant mineral resources over a 1.5-kilometer strike length within a broader 3-kilometer-long and 650-meter-wide dilational zone.
The drilling program, part of the company’s ongoing exploration efforts, intercepted silver and base metal mineralization at multiple depths. Notable results include:
- 0.32 meters @ 858 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent (826 g/t silver, 0.38 g/t gold, 0.129% zinc, and 0.223% lead) from 19.68 meters downhole (CRI-2026-048) - 0.43 meters @ 582 g/t silver equivalent (554 g/t silver, 0.26 g/t gold, 0.38% zinc, and 0.416% lead) from 59.87 meters downhole (CRI-2026-047) - 2.42 meters @ 280 g/t silver equivalent (278 g/t silver, 0.03 g/t gold, 0.035% zinc, and 0.040% lead) from 11.35 meters downhole (CRI-2026-045) - 2.78 meters @ 250 g/t silver equivalent (240 g/t silver, 0.11 g/t gold, 0.079% zinc, and 0.041% lead) from 27.32 meters downhole (CRI-2026-044) - 0.51 meters @ 2337 g/t silver equivalent (2300 g/t silver, 0.47 g/t gold, 0.03% zinc, and 0.01% lead) from 40.79 meters downhole (CRI-2026-043) - 0.5 meters @ 242 g/t silver equivalent (31 g/t silver, 0.28 g/t gold, 8.92% zinc, and 1.83% lead) from 101.77 meters downhole (CRI-2026-030)
These results are part of the company’s Phase 2 exploration, which targeted the near-surface depth extension of veins between Phase 1 drill holes. The Phase 2 program, comprising 20 diamond drill holes for a total of 2,144 meters, successfully confirmed the continuity of mineralized structures between Phase 1 drill holes. Notably, the deepest intercept was 0.28 meters @ 114 g/t silver equivalent (13.95 g/t silver, 0.27 g/t gold, 3.78% zinc, and 0.677% lead) at a downhole depth of 129.63 meters.
The mineralization at El Cristo is of an intermediate sulphidation epithermal type, similar to the Veta Grande vein, which has reported historical production of 200 million ounces of silver equivalent. The veins at El Cristo share characteristics with those at Veta Grande and are part of the same sigmoidal zone of dilation.
The company’s CEO, Eric Vanderleeuw, commented, “We are very encouraged by the results of this near-surface program at El Cristo. Phase 2 intersected the veins as expected, with silver mineralization from surface and base metals strengthening in our deepest holes. The system remains open at depth, and we are looking to expand on it.”
Zacatecas Silver Corp. continues to advance its exploration efforts, with plans to drill at Oso Negro and Cumaro, and to progress the Esperanza project toward a Preliminary Economic Assessment. The company has also recently completed a financing to support its exploration activities.
Quality assurance measures were strictly followed, with samples submitted to ALS in batches, ensuring a robust chain of custody and rigorous quality control procedures.
These latest results underscore the potential for significant mineralization at El Cristo, positioning Zacatecas Silver Corp. as a promising player in the Mexican mining sector.
