YD Bio Limited, a biotechnology company based in Taipei, Taiwan, and Bothell, Wash., has partnered with EG BioMed Co., Ltd. and digital health provider JoiiUp to launch an AI-driven cancer risk assessment tool for corporate wellness programs. This collaboration aims to expand access to personalized health insights, leveraging the expertise of YD Bio and EG BioMed in DNA methylation-based cancer detection and the extensive experience of JoiiUp in workplace health promotion.
The AI Cancer Risk Assessment, developed in collaboration with three Taipei Medical University (TMU) affiliated hospitals, has been validated using over 1,200 clinical records. This tool utilizes an online health questionnaire and proprietary AI models to analyze demographic data, lifestyle habits, and family history across ten cancer types, providing a non-invasive profiling method that requires no blood draws or imaging. Users can seamlessly access the Assessment directly within the JoiiSports app, generating personalized risk reports and targeted lifestyle recommendations through Single Sign-On (SSO).
JoiiUp, with over 12 years of experience in workplace health promotion, supports the employee wellness programs of more than 400 companies. By integrating the Assessment into its existing ecosystem, JoiiUp aims to offer employers a comprehensive solution to add targeted cancer risk analysis to their health benefits. The tool is designed to connect with JoiiUp’s exercise, nutrition, and sleep management features, providing a holistic approach to health and wellness.
Dr. Ethan Shen, Chairman and CEO of YD Bio, emphasized the importance of early cancer risk understanding and timely action.
Dr. Ruo-Kai Lin, Professor at TMU and Chief of R&D at EG BioMed, highlighted the potential of the Assessment.
The Assessment is described as a cancer risk-stratification and health guidance tool. It uses statistical and artificial intelligence methods applied to health information self-reported by the user. Its output does not represent the probability of developing cancer and is not intended for cancer diagnosis, screening, early detection, disease prediction, or treatment decision-making. It cannot replace professional medical evaluation, diagnostic testing, or consultation with a qualified healthcare provider.
YD Bio Limited operates an integrated healthcare platform spanning molecular diagnostics, clinical services, precision medicine, and life science commercialization. The company's DNA methylation-based oncology testing programs are conducted in the United States under a laboratory-developed test strategy, and it supports pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners through compliant life science distribution and clinical trial supply chain services. YD Bio also maintains regulated ocular health commercialization operations and a consumer health distribution platform in Asia.
The partnership with JoiiUp and EG BioMed is part of YD Bio's ongoing efforts to expand its reach and impact in the healthcare industry. By integrating the AI Cancer Risk Assessment into JoiiUp's existing platform, the companies aim to provide a more comprehensive and accessible approach to cancer risk assessment and management.
