Xflow, a fintech company backed by Stripe, PayPal Ventures, and General Catalyst, has launched a service enabling global businesses to collect payments from Indian customers through UPI, bank transfers, and cards, with a success rate of 95% or higher. This new service, which aims to simplify the process for U.S. and other international businesses, is expected to significantly boost revenue for companies operating in the Indian market.
Until now, accepting payments from Indian customers for global businesses has been fraught with challenges. International credit cards often fail, with a success rate of less than 70%, due to cards not being enabled for cross-border spending. Recurring payments face additional hurdles, such as India’s mandate and data requirements, making the process cumbersome and costly. Additionally, bank transfers are slow and require extensive paperwork, leading to abandoned checkouts and lost revenue.
Xflow addresses these issues by turning cross-border payments into local transactions for Indian buyers. At checkout, customers can pay using the methods they are accustomed to and trust, such as cards, bank transfers, and UPI, which account for about 85% of India’s digital payment volume. These methods settle quickly, achieving a high success rate, which directly translates to higher conversion rates for merchants. Funds are settled in U.S. dollars and other major currencies, ensuring that businesses receive payments in their preferred currency.
Ashwin Bhatnagar, Co-founder and CEO of Xflow, expressed the company’s mission: "Getting paid by customers in India has always been harder than it should be, and global businesses lose real revenue because of it. We’re making it possible for any international company to accept payments from Indian customers as easily as a domestic merchant would with the local payment methods Indians prefer. This enables high payment success rates, settlement in their own currency, and less compliance headaches."
Xflow’s solution is designed for businesses across various sectors, including physical-goods merchants, SaaS providers, AI and consumer-tech platforms, online travel and booking platforms, and edtech providers. The platform’s success is evident from its growth trajectory; Xflow grew 10x in 2025 and now serves nearly 20,000 businesses across 100+ countries and 25+ currencies. The company has also raised $16.6 million in a Series A funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Square Peg, Stripe, Lightspeed, Moore Capital, and PayPal Ventures.
Xflow holds full authorization under the Reserve Bank of India's Payment Aggregator, Cross Border framework for both imports and exports, as well as authorization to operate as a Payment Aggregator, Online. It has also received in-principle approval from the IFSCA (International Financial Services Centres Authority) to operate as a Payment Service Provider at GIFT City IFSC. The company is currently operating in Canada and the US as a Money Services Business.
The launch of Xflow’s India collections service is a significant step for global businesses looking to expand their customer base in India without the complications of setting up a local entity. This development is expected to streamline the payment process, increase conversion rates, and ultimately boost the bottom line for international companies operating in the Indian market.
