WPC Introduces Ki Cordless Kitchen Standard at IFA 2026

Berlin, September 03, 2026, The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), known for developing the Qi standard for mobile wireless charging, is set to introduce the Ki Cordless Kitchen Standard at the International Forum for Audio-Visual Technology (IFA) in Berlin this September. Ki will transform the kitchen experience by eliminating traditional power cords and outlets, making cooking and food preparation more convenient, safer, and smarter.

At IFA 2026, the Smart Living Summit on September 7 will feature Ki as a showcase technology in a Spotlight Case Study session titled "Wireless Power and the Future of Smart Kitchens." The session, scheduled to begin at 11:50 AM on the IFA Dream Stage in Hall 25, will detail Ki’s innovative features and its potential to revolutionize kitchen design and appliance functionality. Following the presentation, a panel discussion will explore how embedded wireless power can unlock new possibilities in kitchen architecture and appliance development.

From September 5 to 7, visitors can also see Ki products demonstrated in the Resillion booth (H26c-112) at the IFA Global Markets area. Resillion serves as one of the two Authorized Test Labs for Ki certification testing and manufactures test equipment to support the development of Ki-compliant appliances. The presence of Ki at IFA is expected to provide valuable insights for companies considering Ki-enabled appliances or component parts.

Ki is the latest standard from the WPC, aiming to bring wireless power into one of the most frequently used rooms in the home. Qi2, the latest iteration of the Qi standard for mobile and handheld device charging, has already transformed the wireless charging landscape, making it faster, more reliable, and more convenient. The WPC, with over 330 member companies, continues to promote a vision of wireless power that is both convenient and safe.
