COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 17, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Worthington Enterprises, a designer and manufacturer of market-leading brands that enhance everyday life, has published its annual Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability Report for fiscal year 2026. The report highlights the company’s efforts to balance people, planet, and prosperity, showcasing measurable achievements across various categories.
Joe Hayek, president and CEO of Worthington Enterprises, emphasized the company’s commitment to steady, meaningful progress.
In terms of safety, Worthington Enterprises outperformed the industry average by 20% in total case incident rates. The company attributed this success to its LiveSafe occupational health and safety management system, which fosters a people-first safety culture. Employees are empowered to identify risks, act, and support each other’s well-being.
Employee engagement and development were also a priority. With an 83% participation rate in the annual employee engagement survey, the company achieved an engagement score of 71%, an increase from the previous year. To further support career growth, Worthington Enterprises launched the John McConnell Leadership Academy, expanding learning and development opportunities across all career levels.
The company also invested in community and future talent. The Worthington Companies Foundation contributed $3.8 million to 74 non-profit organizations, while 11 high school seniors graduated from the Career Accelerator Program. These graduates earned industry-recognized manufacturing credentials and accepted full-time positions with Worthington Enterprises.
Environmental sustainability was a key focus, with the company implementing an Environmental Excellence program. This initiative established facility-level targets aimed at reducing energy use, conserving resources, diverting waste, and leading within local communities. The Westerville, Ohio, facility saved approximately one million gallons of water by improving the operation of four cooling towers.
In the realm of product innovation, Worthington Enterprises supported the HVACR industry’s transition to next-generation refrigerants with lower global warming potential. The company worked closely with customers, regulators, and industry organizations to promote safe handling, storage, and distribution while advocating for consistent safety standards for refrigerant cylinders.
The company also made strides in circular solutions. Ragasco, a Worthington Enterprises business, became the first cylinder manufacturer to recover composite cylinder materials for reuse. This process involved diverting composite production waste to a thermal recycling process that recovers materials for new applications.
Worthington Enterprises strengthened its supplier relationships by expanding data collection to indirectly monitor 100% of suppliers for social and environmental risks and impacts. The company directly engaged 100% of high-risk suppliers, which comprised the top 80% of total supplier spend and non-domestic suppliers.
The report was developed with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and incorporates elements of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Appliance Manufacturing Standard, Building Products and Furnishings Standard, and Containers and Packaging Standard. Additionally, company activities and programs addressing material topics are mapped to relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Worthington Enterprises continues to prioritize its corporate citizenship and sustainability efforts, aiming to build a stronger company and create long-term value for its employees, customers, shareholders, and communities.
